With a commitment to continuous improvement, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team and contribute to the efficient management of transport and operational functions.

As an operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role to plan and coordinate all transport operations within budget, striving for continuous improvement in efficiency and customer satisfaction while upholding high service standards. This hands-on role will require you to actively engage in various tasks, including FLT driving, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing support wherever necessary to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan, organize, monitor, and control operations across the Depot, ensuring efficient management of vehicles and drivers while maintaining budgetary control and service levels.

* Get involved hands-on, including tasks such as FLT driving, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing support wherever necessary to ensure smooth operations.

* Manage the operational team and handle escalated driver or transport issues efficiently.

* Provide timely reports and spreadsheets for internal departments and customers as required.

* Maintain high standards within the business when interacting with staff, customers, and prospective clients.

* Allocate and manage staff resources according to operational needs, identifying and fulfilling training needs.

* Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation including FORS, HSE, and Transport Legislation.

* Monitor and maintain fleet compliance through auditing, liaising with the Depot Manager/Supervisory team, and ensuring professionalism among Drivers and Deckworkers.

* Facilitate efficient communication and handover within the management team.

* Perform any other reasonable duties as instructed by the management team.

* Provide oversight and direction to your team, implementing performance management and development processes.

* Contribute to decisions on rewards and promotions based on performance measurement.

* Manage and record attendance, including timekeeping, sickness absence, and annual leave.

* Ensure security of all personal or sensitive company data at all times.

Monday - Friday 50 hrs per week.
