Production Support planner

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Planner or scheduling support manager to join an established engineering company based in Fakenham.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of specialist lifting equipment, who work with and supply some of the largest international engineering brands.

Due to continued growth and an ever-expanding customer base, they are looking for a customer focused production planner / scheduling support manager to join the team and oversee and support the production process. This is a new role in the company and as such offers an exciting and rewarding challenge in a friendly and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Production Support Planner / scheduler role:

* Own, the Production Planning function within the business.

* Play a key role in the enhancement and implementation of a new scheduling system

* Manage the production schedule by controlling future orders taking into consideration production capacity and material lead times whilst balancing customer service & contractual lead-times.

* Liaise closely with the Production Floor and Production Manager to validate order status, ensuring focus on priority orders and timelines

* Identify issues that may delay orders and help to find solutions

* Work with Purchasing and Stock Control to translate orders into material and component requirements

* Liaise with customers to manage expectations and ensure a quality service

* Produce adhoc reports to update senior management on delivery times against the Production Plan.

* Assist with PDI videos or on-line meetings with the customer to sign off projects and orders

* Excellent communication skills both oral and written

* Common sense, a positive attitude

* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel in particular

* Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy

* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

* Resilience in the face of competing demands

* At least 2 years’ experience in production planning or scheduling role

* Experience in people-led manufacturing / engineering
