Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Leicester

Salary: Between £35,000-£38,000

Job Type: Permanent

You will manage all suppliers for the company maintains all regulations and requirements, updating supplier database with supplier performance scorecard. Able to identify new suppliers for current single source products. Able to assess new supplier samples for business projects. reviewing guidelines for product assembly and ensuring all materials and resources are available.

This process may also involve sourcing materials and choosing between multiple vendor options, ensuring best quality and service is received and best value is attained.

The Role

Responsible for selecting suppliers, monitoring supplier performance, developing a good supplier base, maintaining a good supplier relationship. Traffic light risk register
Ensuring compliance of products and project related documentation within the UK Supply Quality Organization and ensures adherence to Company procedures/work instructions/specifications, key responsibilities will include.
Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
Provide concise, complete and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval or product warrant submission.
Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues.
Collate and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain.

The Candidate

You will have a good understanding of engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical) and manufacturing processes
Knowledge of Quality Systems and Measure Tools and techniques.
Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or HNC, or equivalent NVQ level 4 qualification
