The role: Mechanical Fitter. (permanent positions)
Shifts: working Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 2.30pm.
Salary: 32k-38k depending on salary.

Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter(s) to join us on a permanent basis in our busy engineering overhaul division. We are looking for a self-motivated person who is able to plan their day using the reports on our internal database and complete work in an organised and timely fashion. A lot of the work we do is rail related so experience of working in the industry would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on various mechanical equipment.
* Stripping and rewiring of electrical components as well as electrical testing
* Ensure all Health and Safety procedures and adhered to at all times
* Using in house reporting ensure all work is quoted and completed on time.
* Ensure your workspace in clean and organised at all times.
Skills:
Required:
* Experience of working within a similar role / industry
* Mechanical experience on vehicles.
* Detailed oriented and ability to multitask.
* Logical troubleshooting skills
* Able to work individually or as part of a team.
* Mechanical qualification.
Desirable:
* Full, clean driving licence desirable
* Rail HVAC chiller units and compressors experience would be an advantage
* Ability to use crimping tools would also be an advantage
* FGAS qualified as well would be desirable but not required.
* Proficient in brazing and soldering pipe circuits
* Electrical knowledge, fault finding and exchanging electrical components

Due to the nature of the job all relevant PPE and overalls will be supplied. Working off site may occasionally be required. An understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous.
The Person:
* Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training.
* Previous experience within a Mechanical / Electrical Fitter position.
* Good IT skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Be able to work well individually and as part of a team
