About The Role

We are seeking an Environmental Planner to join our Enabling team, focusing on projects within the Severn Trent Water and Thames regions. This role bridges feasibility, design, and construction, ensuring smooth project progression from initial scoping to site start.

Purpose of Role:

Provide advice at design and planning stages, identifying environmental consenting requirements, and coordinating associated studies, surveys, reports, and assessments.
Assist in identifying EIA/town planning requirements and coordinate planning applications.
Offer front-end advice on consenting processes and timescales to inform the construction programme.
Manage environmental aspects of projects to ensure timely completion and meet client expectations.Key Responsibilities:

Consult with designers and project managers on environmental consenting requirements.
Identify and coordinate EIA/town planning requirements.
Deliver project-level design, 3rd Party/Environmental Risk Reviews, and identify planning and environmental scopes of work.
Input into project costs.
Coordinate with Client Environmental Planners/Planning consultants for EIA Screening and planning applications.
Support meetings with clients, statutory consultees, and third parties.
Coordinate with designers/project managers on environmental matters to confirm design solutions.
Provide GIS support for Environmental Constraints Maps.
Identify Environmental Permitting (EPR) requirements and liaise with specialists.
Communicate with Local Planning Authorities and statutory consultees as necessary.
Consult with Environmental Regulators as required.
Compile necessary documentation for environmental consents, including EA consents, Flood Risk Activity Permits, Hedgerow Removal Notices, PRoW Diversions, and more.
Assist in achieving biodiversity targets as set by the client.

About The Candidate

Essential:

Knowledge and experience in environmental management/consenting.
Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient IT skills.
Effective time and workload management.
Flexible approach.
Ability to define goals and plan to achieve them.
Full driving licence.Desirable:

Relevant CSCS Card.
Qualification in environmental, town planning, or a related discipline.
Experience in project management from an environmental perspective.
