Arch Resourcing are looking for someone who knows how to make a house, a home. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and determined individual to work with children and young people 5-18 years old with social, emotional and complex needs.

Purpose of the role:

To provide high quality, person-centred care to our Children and Young People often involving an understanding of a broad range of often complex social, emotional and recreational needs.
To recognise the potential of each Child and Young Person and to promote through actions and words the achievement of that potential.
To meet the individual care and support needs of the Child and Young Person using the service in a way that promotes, dignity, privacy, safety and independence.
To safeguard our children and young people by way of risk assessing, protecting their holistic welfare and ensure appropriate information sharing occurs in line with Lavender Grove’s safeguarding policy.
To ensure our residential home is a safe, welcoming environment where children can enjoy, achieve and thrive in to reach their full potentialDuties and responsibilities - Physical/Emotional/Social Needs of Young People:

To assist in the smooth running of the home, being part of a multidisciplinary team promoting a warm, caring, safe and enjoyable environment.
To have responsibility for safeguarding and promoting individual rights, providing good quality care which is free from oppression and where differences are respected and valued
3.To ensure domestic standards such as cooking and cleaning are set, undertaken and monitored in such a fashion as to set a good example to the children.
Maintain a clean and safe environment; ensure that the physical state of the building is maintained to a high standard and that all repair/maintenance problems are reported promptly.
Undertaking keyworker tasks and being responsible for the welfare of specific children.
To prepare individual risk assessment and placement plans for children.Duties and responsibilities - Team:

To be part of a team which wants to achieve the highest standards of care for the residents.
To participate in a comprehensive staff training and development programme to ensure that you are equipped with the necessary skills and levels of expertise to meet the needs of the young people.
To work with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager/ Team Leader to ensure that all staff work together and with others towards meeting the emotional and physical needs of the young people and planning for positive outcomes.
To assist client need and ensure that all Young People have care plans and to develop, implement and review packages of care.
To work as a member of a team, ensuring that the reception, on-going care and discharge of Young People is undertaken in accordance with the statutory framework and policies & procedures of the organisation.
To attend and contribute to staff meetings; this involves participation and collaboration with other staff in the provision of care to enable the development of the home.Other requirements:

Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare - ESSENTIAL
Or Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce Diploma with social care pathway - ESSENTIAL
Or NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young people - ESSENTIAL
Or NVQ 3 Health and Social Care - ESSENTIAL
A minimum of three years’ experience in a Children’s residential social care setting, working with young people aged 5 – 18 
Experience working with Children who have Emotional & Behavioural needs.
Knowledge of relevant Child Care Legislation such as the Children Act 1989/2004, Government Guidance and Best Practice.
Good Knowledge of Child Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
MUST be able to commit to a shift pattern of two day on and four days off (8:00am - 23:00pm (sleep in) 8:00am - 23:00pm)
