We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Adult Social Worker who is also an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dynamic team in central London. This role offers a competitive rate of up to £38 per hour for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Mental Health Act Assessments: Participate in the daytime AMHP rota, undertaking Mental Health Act assessments as an Approved Mental Health Professional. The service operates from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, with occasional assessments outside these hours.

Interventions and Crisis Management: Provide a range of interventions to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Make legally defensible decisions regarding the need for compulsory detention under the Mental Health Act.

Risk Assessment: Conduct complex risk assessments using your specialist knowledge and experience. Manage high-risk and complex situations, making evidence-based decisions about emergency responses to the needs of service users and carers.

Professional Standards: Adhere to the standards of proficiency set by the Health and Care Professional Council to maintain registration. Address learning and development needs through supervision and appraisals.

Requirements:

Must be AMHP qualified and currently warranted, with recent experience working as an AMHP.
Ability to undertake complex risk assessments and manage high-risk situations effectively.
Strong decision-making skills, particularly in emergency situations involving mental health crises.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to HCPC standards.
