Scientific Sales Engineer- Europe
Home based role anywhere in Europe or based out of the Cambridge site. You will need to speak a 2nd European language.
Taking ownership of all European sales within a lucrative market, this role will give you the platform to develop existing relationships and build new partnerships with OEM accounts. This is a technical role where you will be advising on new technology solutions to customers and working with internal engineers to understand complex electro-mechanical optical products.
Based from home in any European country you will travel roughly 30% of the time to other European destinations with some overnight stays. It is key that you can speak English and a 2nd language ideally French, Spanish, Dutch or Italian.
The company have a global presence with a design and manufacturing facility in the UK and regional offices in the US, Germany, Japan and China. In this key role you will partner up with integrators and OEM’s on a range of projects from custom builds to complete system solutions. The applications of these products are hugely diverse and can be used within the photonics, research, nanotechnology, medical devices, semiconductor and metrology sectors.
It is vital that you really understand the technical capacity of the product range and will be able to offer high level technical guidance and support to customers on complex engineering projects. You will need to have the hunger to look at building partnerships with new businesses leveraging active leads from marketing, trade shows and the world class reputation they have within the optics sector.
The sales team is small but expanding and will give you a great platform and freedom to be successful within a market that is still performing well even in current circumstances.
For this role we are looking for:
- A strong technical engineering background working within automation, hi-tech engineering, scientific products, electro-mechanical products, or optics/lasers/photonics.
- Ideally a degree in an engineering related field.
- Some sales experience or a real desire to get into a sales position with a strong technical background.
- A hunger to penetrate new markets and make a real difference!
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and 1 other European language.
Salary for the role would be dependent on experience with a range of £35k-£45k + company car, commission, bonus, pension, laptop, mobile phone etc
