POSITION PURPOSE:
The Infrastructure Specialist is the infrastructure resource to complete onboarding activities. As the infrastructure resource of the team this individual will be responsible for an array of customer projects, infrastructure onboarding activities, and coordinate & execute customer-facing projects that are necessary for the business to complete.
The Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for organizing infrastructure project plans for customer projects, which will be directed by needs of Sales. They will need to assist and coordinate the completion of any closed won opportunity.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· The Infrastructure Specialist must work out of a datacenter.
· Performs basic and advanced infrastructure provisioning tasks such as stacking/racking servers and network/storage cabling.
· Documents operational runbooks and other pertinent infrastructure information that is required to provide day-to-day support of our customers new/ upgraded environments.
· Lead the infrastructure planning and implementation of Onboarding.
· Take ownership of infrastructure problems and proactively resolve problems, ensuring that technical solutions continue to meet business requirements.
· Demonstrate knowledge of the specific technologies necessary to fulfil the responsibilities and tasks of the role.
· Partner cross-functionally with Customer Success, Sales, Product, Support, NetOps and other teams to deliver according to established project timelines.
· Along with SMEs, participate and gather details in scoping calls for potential projects.
· Ensure that all projects meet or exceed customer expectations.
· Infrastructure inventory control.
Requirements
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 3 years of infrastructure support/administration.
· Proficient knowledge to support and implement infrastructure technologies and solutions; to include computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software and virtual technologies (VMware)
· Ability to troubleshoot hardware components.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills are required.
· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
· Knowledge of infrastructure as a whole; NAS, SAN, Servers, Firewalls, network connections/cabling
· Proficient with hardware components and supporting software such as Open Manage.
· Assist in creating technical solutions for Dedicated Server clients such as upgrade and migration plans
· Advanced server administration on Windows and Linux systems
· Advanced network topologies and networking components
· Ability to work independently or as a team to approach problems creatively and resolve them in an effective and timely manner.
· Inventory control systems
· Ability to lift 50 lbs
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
