We currently require the services of a Cash Specialist to work for a well respected client based in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity to for a 6 Month Contract with the view to be extended. You'll also have the opportunity to gain a financial qualification!

6 Months - Likely to extend and possibility to be extended

37 Hours per week - Monday to Friday

Regus, Leeds- 2 Days in the office/ 3 days working from home

£14.70 per hour - PAYE - Weekly pay

Overview of Role

Knowledge and proven experience of financial accounting and banking regulations, especially concerning general ledger, BACS Card Payments & Cheque processing.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with an attention for detail. Proficient in Excel and able to learn new reports and processes easily.
Focuses on providing customer and operational excellence. Meeting customer, business and regulatory requirements, and ensuring strict compliance procedures are always adhered to.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with other departments to share knowledge. Being able to provide helpful feedback with clearly defined logical explanations in order to support the team in reducing the amount of reoccurring rejections.
Ability to build relationships with people in related business areas to ensure smooth transition of cross functional processes. Willingness and ability to assist in training new team members, to provide advice and support to develop greater knowledge within the team and optimise performance.
Pro-active, with strong organisational and time management skills, having the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and KPI's. Able to adapt to new process changes with ease with minimal detrimental impact to the team.Job Description

Manage the end-to-end process of cash collections, including tracking and reconciling payments received from customers via BACS card payments and cheques.
Ensure accurate and timely posting of payments to customer accounts, following company procedures and accounting principles.
Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable team to identify overdue accounts and initiate necessary collection actions.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries related to payments, providing excellent customer service and resolving any payment discrepancies.
Prepare and maintain detailed records of payment transactions, ensuring documentation is organised and readily accessible.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Customer Support, and Billing teams, to facilitate smooth payment processing and address payment-related concerns.
Monitor and report on cash collection performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement to enhance the overall collections process.
Proactively follow up with customers via phone calls, emails, or letters to ensure timely resolution of outstanding payments and resolve any billing inquiries.
Stay up-to-date with changes in payment regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements to improve efficiency in cash collections.

Experienced BACS Payments
Experience using V-Lookups
Customer focusedDesirable but not essential for all of the below

Experienced with Junifer systems.
Has an understanding of the concept of working capital and the influences Credit Control and collection performance has therein.
Professional financial qualifications (full or part qualified), such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CICM.
