The purpose of this position is to assist in the most efficient and resourceful fashion the Group Human Resources Manager in achieving and maintaining the highest standards in Human Resource practice and the relevant administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintain team spirit, collaboration and cooperation with all colleagues, in particular the HR  team and providing necessary support to the heads of departments at all times;
  • Efficient and confidential maintenance of employee records and executing correct employment and administrative processes; 
  • Take an active part in the process of the recruitment of new employees where necessary, including but not limited to advertising, screening CVs and setting up interviews;
  • Assisting newly recruits in the formulation of working permits documentation and the necessary liaising with the relevant local government entity;
  • Assisting newly recruits with accommodation and transportation as necessary; 
  • Continuous monitoring of the organization workforce to be in line with the stipulated company manning/payroll budgets;
  • Updating and maintaining employee records;
  • Continuous update of the company and departmental organization charts; 
  • Follow up and enforcement of company policies and procedures; 
  • Efficient follow up of departmental goals, objectives and deadlines;
  • The ability  to effectively present and interpret statistical data; 
  • Compiling and preparing relevant spreadsheets; 
  • Assisting in organizing social events for employees;
  • The ability to organize, prioritize and plan work activities in a timely manner;
  • Forming part of cross-departmental project teams and quality circles;
  • Staying abreast with employment, safety and hygiene regulations;
  • Constantly monitoring business trends and competitors offers and refining own products and services to maintain a constant competitive edge;
  • Participating in official, social and recreational activities held by the company;
  • Participating in training programmes, in house or off the premises locally and/or overseas;
  • Perform other related duties as deemed required and necessary by the Group Human Resources Manager.

Job Specification:

  • Ideally an HR Diploma or any other related Degree would be an asset;
  • Minimum of 2 years in the wholesale and retail industry;
  • Strong operational/technical knowledge;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office, in particular work and excel;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases;
  • Knowledge of the Maltese employment law;
  • Possess a ‘can do’  and ‘right the first time’ attitude.
