Position Summary:

They currently seeking a Manufacturing Excellence Manager to join their team with a specialised focus on Health and Safety as well as Process and Product Quality Improvement, will lead the way in ensuring that their production facilities not only adhere to the highest safety standards but also consistently enhance the quality of their products.

Key Responsibilities:

Lean Manufacturing Leadership

Champion the adoption and deepening of lean manufacturing practices across all operational fronts.

  • Conduct regular lean assessments and workshops to identify waste, streamline processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Mentor and guide the team in lean principles, tools, and techniques, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish lean projects that drive operational excellence.

Health and Safety Leadership

  • Cultivate a proactive safety-first culture throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Design and enforce rigorous safety protocols, ensuring compliance with both local and global standards.
  • Lead periodic safety audits, undertaking comprehensive risk assessments and promptly addressing areas of concern.
  • Partner with HR to initiate safety training and awareness campaigns.

Process and Product Quality Enhancement

  • Spearhead initiatives to innovate manufacturing processes, boosting efficiency and product quality.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to set, evaluate, and uphold impeccable product quality standards.
  • Analyse production metrics and customer feedback to pinpoint and act upon quality enhancement opportunities.

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise daily operations, ensuring harmonious alignment with lean, health, safety, and quality directives.
  • Engage with equipment vendors and maintenance teams, guaranteeing machinery safety, efficiency, and alignment with lean principles.

Performance Metrics & Reporting

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators related to lean manufacturing, health, safety, and quality.
  • Produce regular reports for senior management, spotlighting areas of improvement and strategising the way forward.

Team Management and Development

  • Support the Operations Director in driving performance in a multifunctional team, ensuring they're well-trained, motivated, and safety-conscious.
  • Organise regular training programs, especially in the areas of health and safety, and quality control.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a pertinent field.
  • Advanced certification or proven experience in Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Comprehensive training in Health and Safety management or ideally qualification in Health and Safety
  • Demonstrated success in a manufacturing leadership role with a significant focus on lean principles, safety, and quality.
