The Opportunity

We now have an excellent development opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking to move into Automation and Control. As an Electrical Automation and Control Technician you’ll work closely with the lead Control Systems Engineer and site electrical engineering team to progress your automation skills through in house and external training courses. Your base will be at our Torr Works Super Quarry in Shepton Mallet, Somerset (with hybrid working and flexible hours available.

Being part of our Automation team , reporting to the lead control engineer, you’ll initially assist with then lead on projects and faults across our manufacturing sites covering the southern region of the country. 

After your initial training period you’ll lead on projects to help improve efficiency of our control systems and take on the design of new systems. You’ll also assist with out of hours support for our onsite electrical engineers, typically this is over the phone support.

Who you are

You’ll have a basic understanding and practical experience in installing or performing basic edits PLC, HMI, SCADA and networking.

You’ll be an Electrically Qualified and keen to develop their career within a Control and Automation

You’ll have a current understanding of Control Systems, to be able to perform modifications as required

You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to communicate at all levels.
