Preschool Teachers

The Virginia Early Learning Partners (VAELP) is dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education to children in the Greater Richmond area. We believe that every child deserves a strong foundation for learning and future success, and our preschool programs strive to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners.
As a Preschool Teacher at one of our select centers, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families. You will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. All of the sites use a preschool curriculum that is designed to foster a love of learning and prepare children for a successful transition to kindergarten.
Responsibilities:
Create and implement lesson plans based on the needs and interests of the children
Provide a safe and nurturing environment that supports the social and emotional development of each child
Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities that promote their cognitive and physical development
Observe and document children's progress and provide regular feedback to parents
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Attend parent-teacher conferences and other school events
Requirements
Requirements:
Experience working with preschool-aged children
Knowledge of child development principles and practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to create and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Benefits
Job Type: Full and Part Time, depending on center
Salary: $12 - 18 per hour depending on experience and education
Free participation for your children at select centers
No weekends required
