Central is currently recruiting for three Progression Coaches, to work in the Camden area. This is a high support specialist supported accommodation service for young people with mental health and complex needs.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday, on a rota basis covering early (7:45AM - 3:45AM on weekdays and 8:45AM - 4:45PM on weekends) and late (1:30PM - 9:30PM) shifts. There is a requirement to work every other weekend.

Temporary cover is required for approximately 3 months. The pay rate for this role is £13.70 per hour, with £1.65 holiday pay, totalling £15.35 per hour.

In this position, you will be expected to;

* Hold a caseload of 2 key clients and conduct regular key working sessions, providing one to one support.

* Complete comprehensive and ongoing risk and needs assessments

* Take joint responsibility with your team members for the wellbeing and day to day support of all clients in the service and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service

* Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and in the local community, aimed at increasing resilience in the young people

* Proactively work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams, to support the wellbeing of the young people

* Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the wider community programme of activities

* Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations

* Ensure the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting.

* Prepare accommodation for new clients to move into and support the client to settle in

* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable

To apply for this role candidates must have;

* Experience of working with young people who are categorized as high risk or high needs, who have complex needs

* An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use.

* Experience holding a caseload, conducting support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments

* Ability to work with young people whose behaviour is personally challenging

* Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with young people

* Ability to provide a therapeutic environment which contributes to young people's health development (including sexual)

* Experience working in partnership with multi agency teams, including social workers and mental health professionals

* A clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and Health and Safety

* An understanding and commitment to working in an assets based way.

* Effective collaborative working

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
