Atrium Recruitment is excited to present an excellent opportunity for a skilled Estimator to join a leading residential contractor based in Ipswich. As part of our client's growing commercial team, you will play a vital role in accurately estimating construction costs for residential projects, ensuring the profitability and success of each venture. This company are a reputable regional contractor delivering residential projects in the East of England up to the value of £15 million. 

Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation: Utilize your expertise to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and refurbishments.
Bid Preparation: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to analyze project specifications, review tender documents, and develop competitive bid proposals.
Material and Labor Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of material and labor requirements, sourcing pricing information and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality, proposing alternative materials or construction methods where appropriate.
Cost Tracking and Reporting: Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, tracking expenditures against budgets and providing regular reports to stakeholders on cost variances and projections.
Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure and ensure project profitability.
Requirements:

Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, with a focus on residential projects. Experience in both new build and refurbishment projects is preferred.
Quantitative Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical abilities, with the capability to accurately estimate costs based on project specifications and drawings.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all cost estimates and bid proposals.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of relevant building regulations and construction standards is advantageous.
Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to the overall success of projects.
