We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed individual to lead all aspects of the Operational activities within Warehouse and Logistics processes effectively, whilst maintaining Safety, Quality, Service, Cost & Productivity performance to ensure all objectives are met.

The role is critical to the profitable operation of the division and to the successful continuous improvement of the area.

Keys responsibilities include, but not limited to:

· To ensure the safe & efficient day-to-day operation of a site.

· Ensure that all employees are effectively managed within the framework policies & procedures; particularly regarding Health & Safety, training, timekeeping, absence control, discipline & compliance.

· To ensure that the Company’s legal responsibilities regarding road transport operations, employment law & environmental, health & safety legislation are fully complied with.

· Ensures quality procedures are followed & NCRs raised as applicable.

· Monitors efficiency of operation & drives performance improvement. Ensures KPIs are kept up to date, initiates & tracks improvement actions.

· Is responsible for maintaining housekeeping, and the correct identification of product & storage locations, & the ongoing analysis of inventory movements.

· Ensures customer requirements are satisfied by making sure that activities are correctly prioritised & resourced.

Knowledge and Experience:

· Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to provide direction.

· Good data analysis, planning and organisational skills.

· Should have practical knowledge of EHS, be able to conduct Risk Assessments, and create Safe Working Practices. Ideally should be IOSH certified.

· Understands how employment legislation impacts a role involving the supervision of other employees.

· Knows & can apply policies as laid out in the Employment Handbook.

· Has a detailed understanding of product & process quality requirements.

· Good general knowledge of warehousing & distribution activities.

· Ability to create a good plan and determination to accomplish goals.

· Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Knows customer-specific requirements related to the site's business.

· Understands, & can apply, modern manufacturing techniques including Lean manufacturing.

· Is an effective change manager & can identify opportunities for improvement & lead these through to delivering bottom-line benefits.

· Can demonstrate the successful leadership of a Team consistently achieving its objectives.

· Knows & has a track record of leading the application of continuous improvement tools to achieve sustainable business improvements.

· Excellent oral & written communication skills.

· Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel & e-mail.
