One of our local authority clients are currently recruiting for a Lead for Practice Development and Assurance. This is a temporary contract for 6 months with possible further extension based on budget and performance.

Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary

The successful post holder will be responsible for CQC compliance work as instructed by the Service Manager. This will include oversight of two senior practitioners who will work across services areas to ensure that the 50 identified residents for any upcoming inspection have been robustly quality assured, and improvements actioned by the relevant service. The role will also work with the wider team to ensure policy, strategies and frameworks are in place and prepare teams/practitioners engagement with the CQC inspectors.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Work with the Principal Social Worker and service manager to further develop and embed the Strengths-Based Practice model across all areas of adult social services.

* Have a key role in ensuring CQC compliance across all service areas working directly with managers, practitioners and partners to improve practice, processes and interventions.

* Be responsible for developing and accessing ASYE social workers across all service areas.

* Provide ongoing support to Social Work Officers and those undertaking Social Work and Occupational Therapy apprenticeships.

* Lead on case discussions, social care forums and workshops where required.

* Work with commissioners and providers to embed strengths-based and outcomes focused practice into their delivery models.

* Contribute to audit processes, identifying areas of development and working with managers and teams in developing the right skills and knowledge to improve quality of practice.

* Work with workforce development change manager to undertake training needs analysis of teams and produce development plans within service areas with are continually reviewed.

* Deliver training and staff development workshops to improve skills, knowledge and competencies.

* Work with Higher Education Institutes (HEI’s), Team Managers and staff in developing our apprenticeship pathways and ensuring we have pathways that support practitioners into apprenticeship opportunities.

* Take the lead in initiating, developing and sustaining internal and external working relationships with other professionals, partner organisations, external agencies.
