Senior Estimator – London - FBE – January 2024
The Role Caledonian Construction is recruiting a Senior Estimator for a Main Contractor in London.
This role involves carrying out the estimating function for main contractor projects [£25m +] across various industries, procurement strategies, and contract types. You will ensure accurate estimates are prepared from bill of quantities, specifications, and drawings within given deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse tender documentation to identify scope of works and materials required.
* Review tender information and compile trade-specific packages for pricing.
* Produce trade-specific quantified Bill of Quantities.
* Manage Tender Queries and liaise with supply chain for pricing.
* Produce Detailed Pricing Schedules for bid submissions.
* Assess and adjudicate subcontractor returns.
* Produce pricing notes to mitigate risk and clarify bid basis.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have:
* At least 10 years of estimating experience.
* Ability to estimate projects over £25m and work independently on tenders.
* Quantity Surveying or Estimating related degree/qualification.
* Determination, attention to detail, and diligence in execution.
* Technical familiarity and cost awareness in construction materials and labour.
* IT proficiency in MS Office and estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, CCS).
* Commercial awareness and risk/opportunity identification.
* Excellent communication skills.
Salary is dependant upon expeirence and negotiable.
