Business Development Manager - Building / Construction – East Midlands + Some Remote Working

LEADING TIER 1 BUILDING MAIN CONTRACTOR

COMPANY:

A reputable regional building main contractor, with a longstanding history and a strong brand in the industry.
Role will be a mix of East Midlands office, remote work and client visits.

ROLE:

As Business Development Manager in the East Midlands, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities. Your primary focus will be on fostering strategic partnerships, cultivating client relationships and driving revenue growth. You will collaborate closely with our operations and marketing teams to develop and execute effective business development strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

DUTIES

As Business Development Manager your duties will include:

* Market analysis: carry out market research to identify trends, opportunities. Analyse competitor activities and market dynamics to inform decision making.

* Business development strategy: work alongside the Regional Director to develop and implement business development strategies, aligned with regional business plans.

* Lead generation: proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through various channels including cold calling, networking events, industry conferences and digital marketing.

* Reporting and Analysis; you will be expected to maintain Salesforce CRM, preparing comprehensive reports and performance metrics to track progress, measure success and identify areas for improvement, providing regular updates the board and the regional management teams.

* Customer reviews: you will manage and conduct formal customer feedback

* Framework relationships: You will maintain healthy relationships with relevant account managers for the frameworks which we are on regionally.

* Customer relationships: You will join the team with maintaining excellent relationships with valued existing customers, as well as opening the door to new relationships which you will track and manage.

* Industry relationships: You will maintain and manage existing relationships with our consultants and influencers, as well as creating new, meaningful relationships within the industry. Take an interest in marketing opportunities to promote the company brand, helping to assemble the information required to drive campaigns and looking out for opportunities to make the brand more visible.

* Cross functional collaboration: You will work closely with internal stakeholders including the operations, commercial and National and Strategic Accounts team to co-ordinate business development efforts.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this Business Development Manager vacancy you will likely have the following attributes:

- Previous employment as a Business Development Manager, Business Development Executive, Business Development Coordinator, Marketing Manager or similar.

- Previous Main Contractor / Principal contractor employment.

-You will have an established network within the construction industry and public sector client types.

-Demonstrable knowledge and experience in the construction industry, including an understanding of market trends, procurement routes, market competition and client needs.

-A strategic think who is able to develop actionable plans to drive business growth and expansion.

-Have a proven track record of generating new business through effective prospecting, networking and negotiation skills.

-You will be able to identify target customers; develop, implement, and maintain account plans.

-Good organisation skills and work ethic

-Excellent spoken and written English.

-A good, clear telephone manner is essential as there will be client interface during the course of the daily works, as well as meeting skills both online and in person.

-A good ‘team player’, able to work independently and as part of a team.

-Driving licence.
