Job Description

Seek quotations on a variety of goods and services, issue Purchase Orders and expedite delivery.
Assist in the preparation, and occasionally lead the development, of tender documentation such as Further Competitions, Invitations to Tender and contracts.
Participate in, and occasionally lead, tender evaluation exercises and prepare tender evaluation reports.
Assist in the creation of suitable contract records to meet internal and statutory requirements.
Assist in the management of transactional contract deliverables.
Supporting the Sourcing Officer & Sourcing Manager in the day to day management of a portfolio of contracts;
Following the business processes that support the Commercial & Contract Management Team as defined in the NWS Management System.
Supporting the NDA Collaborative Procurement programme.
Maintaining an awareness of suppliers and services in order to support the needs of the department.
Assist in the preparation of procurement strategies.
Preparing contract documents and records for configuration control and archiving purposes.
Carry out commercial reporting requirements for internal and external sources.
Deputise for the Sourcing Officer as required.
Have knowledge of contract terms and conditions to ensure that contract management can be delivered effectively.
Achieve individual Performance Objectives set by the Line Manager.
Identifying job specific training requirements and development needs.

To assist the Sourcing Manager in establishing contracts and framework agreements, managing contracts and procuring low value services and supplies as required
To assist the Sourcing Team in providing a safe and enjoyable working environment
To assist the Commercial and Contract Management Team in providing a safe and enjoyable working environment
To provide workable & effective contract vehicles to the Contract Management Team.

Essential skills, knowledge and qualifications

Good level of GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or equivalent
Knowledge and experience of commercial and procurement processes and contract terms
Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
