Overall Objectives of the Post: Memorial Advisor

Working as part of a team in a highly sensitive service area, you will be responsible for providing effective administrative support and relevant advice applicable to the delivery of the cemeteries and closed churchyards memorials schemes.

Key Tasks of the Post: Memorial Advisor

You will provide administrative assistance to the Bereavement Services Team. You must:

* Be able to utilise IT skills and enter data into digital systems accurately.

* Be responsible for all administrative aspects of the cemeteries and closed churchyards memorial schemes.

* Liaise with memorial stonemasons and the public in a professional manner.

* Observe reverence and respect at all times and ensure all information received is treated in the strictest confidence.

* Set high standards of efficiency and accuracy at all times.

* Manage correspondence relating to the memorial schemes.

* Assist in the promotion and maintenance of a healthy and safe environment for all cemetery users.

You will be responsible for processing documentation. You must:

* Analyse data relating to the safety inspections of memorial stones.

* Prepare and maintain manual and digital records of the inspection results and subsequent make-safe works undertaken.

* Compose and issue correspondence to memorial owners.

* Ensure information is accurate at all times.

You will be responsible for dealing with enquiries and complaints from members of the public. You must:

*

* Provide advice to the public on matters relating to memorial safety.

* Deal with all enquiries and complaints with compassion, competence and tact at all times.

* Advise and settle telephone / email enquiries wherever possible.

* Assist in settling enquiries made at reception wherever possible.

* Record any enquiries in accordance with Corporate Feedback Policy wherever necessary.

You will be responsible for making a contribution to the service. You must:

* Understand the Service aims and objectives and how your role contributes to them.

* Contribute to policy and procedural development in meetings with colleagues and management.
