I am delighted be working with a Teesside based Academy who are looking to recruit a SIMS Manager and Examination Officer. This is a permanent position.
Hours of work: Term time only +10 days, 37 hours per week - flexible.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day support of the MIS systems across the Academy. As part of a team you will provide data support and be responsible for the administration and organisation of all internal and external examinations. Principally, GCSE at key stage 4 and A Level at key stage 5 in accordance with regulations laid down by the awarding bodies. You will be supported by the Assistant Examination Officer.
Key Tasks:
* Manage and administer the registration, assessment and reporting systems,
* Create and coordinate the list of annual SIMS tasks
* Creating all new SIMS user accounts
* Creating and management of all aspects, mark sheets and grade sheets
* Maintain and support school report sessions
* Liaison with support services
* Maintain awareness of future SIMS software updates and the benefits and impacts
* Creating reports
* Maintaining student profile reports using Assessment Manager
* Ensuring the correct entries and arrangements are made for all examination in advance of deadlines
* Manage coursework dispatch and uploading digital submissions
* Manage the daily running of examination including preparation of materials
* Manage post examination jobs
* Provide a centre timetable
* Brief candidates of examination regulations
* Ensuring candidates are aware of individual timetables
* Recruit manage and train invigilators
* Verify monitor exam fees and charges
The above list is not exhaustive, this is a varied role and therefore a flexible approach to the working day is required to ensure the ICT system is maintained. There will also be a requirement to support the Academy events from time to time.
Key Competencies:
* Minimum GCSE grade B or above in Maths and English( or equivalent)
* Prior administration experience is essential
* A relevant administrative qualification is desirable
* Exam officer experience is desirable
* Very strong communications skills is essential
* Strong IT skills
* Use of MIS systems
