Service Charge Accountant

Our client an established estate agency is seeking a Service Charge Accountant to join their team.

Salary: up to £40,000 pa depending on experience

Location: Gravesend (some remote working after 6-12 months)

Benefits: 22 days per annum rising to one per year to 25 days pa

Hours: Monday – Friday 9-5:30pm

Previous experience in the preparation of statutory and service charge accounts is essential. Knowledge of ARMA and RICS regulations. High level of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail. Self-motivated with a methodical and organised approach.

Service Charge Accountant general duties

* To prepare statutory and service charge accounts for residential & commercial properties

* To upload service charge budgets based on agreed apportionments and totals

* To liaise with external auditors as part of the audit process from start to finish

* To raise service charge invoices to tenants based on uploaded budgets

* Dealing with telephone calls and any queries;

* General filing and correspondence (as required);

* Providing cover for team members (as required);

* Other duties (as required).

Service Charge Accountant skills required

* Good knowledge of ARMA and RICS regulations

* Experience of client accounting software (TRAMPS) is desirable

* Experience of client accounting software (APB) would be an advantage

* High level of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail

* Self-motivated with a methodical and organised approach

* Able to effectively prioritise and multi-task

* Excellent people and communication skills at all levels

* Dependable and flexible as well as possessing the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

* Proactive and able to take responsibility for own work and assist others

* Work well under pressure

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

* Good interpersonal and customer service skills
