An exciting opportunity for a mechanical technician building multiple sets of six different Mission system cabinets to support the aircraft build.
The Mechanical technician will need to have structural build experience on aircraft and be familiar with working from engineering drawings.
Someone with good hand skills and an ability to work in a changing environment is essential as engineering changes come through.
The build consists of marking out drilling, riveting (both solid and blind fasteners) use of Hi-locks and bonding of faying surfaces.
There is also airflow testing taking place on client site so travel may be required.
The mission system cabinets are basically Aluminum wardrobes, which will to contain Radar, mission system equipment etc.
Cabinets are received in 'skeleton' form then fit out with cable brackets, trays, shelves - basically everything inside the cabinet before handing them to the Avionic Team.
Job Description Summary
* Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or
implement changes.
* Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
* Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
* Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
* Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
* Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications
and inspection results). Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
* Oversees training.
* Works under general direction.

Other criteria:-
Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
This role is full time on site
