Modifications Technician

Ford & Stanley are seeking Mechanical Modification Technicians to assist our client to complete a vital modification program.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to complete modifications that are vital to the safe running of the fleet, ensuring that Rail passengers can travel across the UK.

Location (s):

Polmadie, Glasgow

Contract duration:

6 Months – Inside IR35

Hours:

Monday to Friday- day shift (likely 10AM- 18:30PM)

Role and Responsibilities:

Repairs and strips outs to the underframes of the trains
Re-fitting mechanical components to the underframes of trains
Ability to complete mechanical modifications
Follow and work to mechanical diagrams
Record all work completed via both paperwork and computer
Work within a team to ensure continuous improvement of the fleets
 The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previously completed modifications on Rolling Stock vehicles. Candidates with experience completing mechanical work and modifications to HGVs or PSVs or with strong fabrication experience, are also encouraged to apply. You will have a good attention to detail, and be able to measure to small tolerances and record the data accurately.

Essential

Understanding of mechanical diagrams and drawings.
Excellent attention to detail.
Previously completed modifications to small tolerances.
Able to strip and re-fit mechanical components.  
Minimum requirements NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical background.
Rolling stock, trams, HGVs, PSVs or fabrication experience.
Desirable

Full UK driving licence.
