CNC SETTER - Days
PERMANENT POSITION
Location of Work: Wolverhampton
Salary: £13ph to £14.50ph = £27,040 to £30,160 DAYS
Hours: DAYS 6am to 3pm Mon to Thurs and 6am to 12.30 Fri 40hours
JOB DESCRIPTION
Immediate opportunity to work with a growing team within an expanding manufacturing company who specialise in high end bespoke metal parts, consumables and components using a variety of metals including Brass, Chrome and Nickel.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
* You will be setting and operating CNC chucking lathes using Mazatrol (Mazak) controls and conventional machines as and when required - Drills, capstan lathes, fly press etc.
* Setting and operating of CNC lathes and millers, vertical and horizontal machining centres as well as CNC Bar machining lathes.
* CNC quick turn machines – running more than 2 machines at a time
* Operating Fanuc controls machining brass bar
* Ensuring cycle times and outputs are achieved to the correct quality standard, report failings.
* Complete detailed quality checks against dimensional drawings using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometers and gauges etc,
* Pass off 1st off approvals for production run and log and record all measurements on the relevant check sheets.
* Program transfers from and to the in-house DNC computer.
* Set machines as requested and ensure that cycle times achieve the quality and output standards required
* Recognise, identify, rectify or report exceptional requirements or shortfalls for parts and components.
* Train and develop new team members to the standard required.
* Maintain a clean, safe working environment and be responsible for good housekeeping and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards.
* Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement.
* Fill in for machine shop team leader when required.
What You Will Already Have:
• Experience and time served CNC Setter wtih experience of working in an engineering / manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of set ups and tooling knowledge
• Latest technology awareness and understanding of engineering language
• Ability to read and understand drawings
• Experience of Mazak control system experience essential
• Experience of using Fanuc controls preferred
• Some programming experience would be preferred
• Engineering or CNC qualification preferrably
